Creating the definitive illustrated edition of the Book of Revelation.

For nearly two thousand years, artists have attempted to portray the extraordinary visions of Revelation. Every generation has interpreted the text through its own artistic language, culture, and understanding.

A VISION ARTISTS HAVE WRESTLED WITH FOR CENTURIES

For years, Faythstudios has been the home of my comics, artwork, and stories, including my superhero series Decapolis. Now, at this juncture in my life, I want to devote my experience as an artist and storyteller to something I hope I have been called to do: illustrating the Book of Revelation in its entirety.

Revelation is a word-for-word illustrated presentation of the final book of the Bible. Every verse will be illustrated in sequence, with careful attention to the details Scripture provides and supported by biblical, historical, and visual research.

The complete text.

Not a summarization.

Not a reimagining.

THE COMPLETE BOOK OF REVELATION — ILLUSTRATED

This project embraces that same tradition. My work draws inspiration from artists including Albrecht Dürer, William Blake, Lucas Cranach, Caravaggio, Odilon Redon, Caspar David Friedrich, and Nicholas Roerich—not to imitate their work, but to draw from the extraordinary visual traditions that have shaped the depiction of Scripture, the sublime, and the divine.

Whether walking through a museum in Vienna, Budapest, or Italy, or visiting the archaeological sites of the Seven Churches of Revelation in Türkiye, I am continually struck by how history, art, and place bring us closer to the world of Scripture—and by how some of the most powerful works in the history of art have wrestled with the life, death, glory, and return of Jesus Christ.

Revelation gives me the opportunity to bring that extraordinary artistic and historical heritage into my own work while attempting to present John’s vision with reverence, clarity, and visual power.

WHY REVELATION?

For much of my life, I have been creating comics—building my own characters, worlds, and stories. Decapolis has been a significant part of that journey, and through it I have had the opportunity to write, draw, publish, and collaborate with talented artists from around the world.

But at this point in my life, I find myself asking a different question: What do I truly want to devote my time and abilities to?

This project represents a departure from decades spent creating my own fictional worlds. I want to take everything I have learned as an artist and storyteller and devote it to something that will truly matter—to use the abilities God has given me in service of His Word.

There is a passage in Ephesians that has become especially meaningful to me: to “look carefully at how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of our time, because the days are evil.”

(Eph. 5:15–16).

This will be a long-term labour of faith, research, writing, design, and illustration—an attempt to present the Book of Revelation with a level of care, accuracy, and artistic ambition worthy of its subject.
